Shake and Shuffle was founded by Vicky Wright through her passion for dance and exercise. Holding qualifications under the Latin American, Ballroom and Freestyle branches of the International Dance Teachers Association, she has 8 years experience as a professional dance teacher. Previous to passing her professional exams, Vicky assisted in adult and children's dance classes and performed in some iconic venues in the West End.
In 2011, the dance fitness craze Bokwa hit the UK and Vicky was amongst the first handful of dance fitness professionals to become a trained Bokwa Fitness Instructor. She quickly realised Bokwa was a fantastic class for Shake & Shuffle to offer to all ages and abilities so went on to take the next two levels of training. She is now a Level 3 instructor.
Vicky added another string to her bow in 2012 in the form of Powerhoop classes. She wanted to bring a new opportunity to clients who were in search of a low impact but high benefit class and Powerhoop was perfect for just that.
It was in June 2013 when Vicky found FitSteps. The dance fitness programme that brought her two passions together for the first time - Ballroom dancing and fitness. Created by Strictly's Natalie Lowe, Ian Waite and former contestant & 6-time World Champion Swimmer, Mark Foster, Vicky was lucky enough to be trained by the Strictly stars in their new venture. FitSteps is now one of Shake & Shuffle's most popular classes.
From a young age, Vicky enjoyed dance and fitness as an amateur. Now, as a dance fitness professional, she takes great pleasure in passing on her passion to everybody she works with. Vicky's relaxed approach puts everyone at ease for fun, enjoyable classes. Vicky has a dedicated team behind her who she has worked with for many years and so these strong relationships make for great chemistry in classes. Professionally qualified, fully insured, CRB checked and First Aid trained - you’re in safe hands!
Since the age of 3, Sam has dedicated a lot of her time to her love of dance. Training in Ballet, Freestyle, Street, Latin American and Ballroom, she has performed in numerous prestigious venues such as The Royal Albert Hall.
Vicky and Sam had already danced, and then taught, together for 10 years when Vicky launched Shake & Shuffle so Sam has been a part of the Shake & Shuffle set up since the very beginning, performing and teaching at various events.
In 2014, Sam qualified to teach FitSteps and Powerhoop and now teaches these classes regularly in Bishop’s Stortford and Great Dunmow. In such a short period of time, she built up a tremendous rapport with our participants which reflects her bubbly and friendly nature.
